The #PayMyStudentLoans Contest (“Contest”) is a skill-based contest open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia who are at least twenty-one (21) years old at the time of entry. Employees, officers and directors of MoneySolver and other companies associated with the promotion of the Contest, and their respective parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, and any immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings, and children) and household members of the aforesaid persons are not eligible. Contest is subject to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited.

- Agreement to Official Rules:
By entering, you fully and unconditionally agree to and accept these Official Rules and the decisions of the Contest judges, which are final and binding in all matters relating to the Contest. Winning a prize is contingent upon being compliant with these Official Rules and fulfilling all other requirements described herein.
- Contest Period:
Contest will begin on June 1, 2019 at 12:00:01 a.m. Eastern Time (“ET”), and end on January 31, 2020 at 11:59:59 p.m. ET (“Contest Period”). Entries that are submitted before or after the Contest Period will be disqualified.
- Entry Requirements:
All entries must contain a short essay (250 words or less) that addresses the following prompt: “If you didn’t have the burden of student loan payments, what would you do with the extra money?”
Along with a completed essay, you must also complete the online entry form at https://www.moneysolver.org/pay-my-student-loans. All fields must be completed. Requested information will include at least the following: entrant’s full name, phone number, email address and estimated amount of student loan debt. Incomplete, illegible or garbled submissions are void.
The essay must reflect your honest and truthful experience and opinions. Sponsor reserves the right to verify any and all facts in any essay(s), if applicable. In addition, the essay must (a) be your own original work which does infringe or violate the rights of anyone else, (b) not contain any names or trademarks of any company other than Sponsor, (c) not defame or libel any person or company, (c) not contain offensive or inappropriate content as determined by Sponsor in its discretion, and (d) not have been submitted in any other competition or won any other prize. You represent and warrant that you have obtained any necessary permission from any person(s) or organization(s) named in your essay.
- How to Enter:
Entries will only be accepted if submitted online through the Contest webpage https://www.moneysolver.org/pay-my-student-loans. Submissions made by email, postal mail, phone, or any other method will not be accepted or considered. Follow the instructions provided on the Contest webpage to submit your entry, including your essay and your answers for all requested information fields.
Limit one (1) entry per person, per email address, and per phone number. Entries in excess of the stated limitation will be void. All entries become the property of MoneySolver and will not be acknowledged or returned.
In the event of any dispute as to the identity of any entrant, the entrant will be deemed to be authorized account holder of the email account associated with the entry. “Authorized account holder” means the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization (business, educational institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address.
- Winner Determination & Notification:
On or about March 31, 2020, a qualified panel of judges will select one (1) potential winner based on the criteria of best expression of the theme of “If you no longer had student loan debt, what would you do with the extra money?” Grammar (25%), creativity/ originality (25%), quality of writing (25%), and compelling nature of story (25%). Judges’ decisions are final and binding. The potential winner will be contacted on or about April 1, 2020, using contact information provided with the entry. If the potential winner cannot be contacted or does not respond within five (5) business days after the date of the first attempt to contact him/her, such person may be disqualified and the prize may be awarded to an alternate winner.
- Waiver Notification:
Each potential Winner may be required to complete, sign and return a Declaration of Compliance, liability release, and publicity release (unless prohibited by law), within five (5) days of the date notice or attempted notice is sent, in order to claim his or her prize. Failure to comply may result in disqualification and award of prize to an alternate winner. If any eligible potential winner is deemed a minor under the laws of his/her state of residence, a parent or legal guardian must sign any required documents. Potential winners must continue to comply with all terms and conditions of these Official Rules and winning is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements.
One Grand Prize is available: Payment of any accumulated student loan debt (including interest and penalties) of the winner, existing as of January 31, 2020, up to a maximum of $50,000. Total prize amount may vary based on Winner’s student loan debt, but in no event will exceed a total of $50,000. Student Loan debt payoff amount will be calculated as of 10 days after the winner accepts the prize in accordance with these Official Rules. Prize will be paid directly to the student loan servicer on Winner’s behalf. Winner must provide IRS Form W9 and any state or local equivalent in order to claim prize. Winner is responsible for any federal, state and local taxes due as a result of acceptance of any prize. If prize exceeds $600, winner will receive an IRS form 1099 from Sponsor for the value of the prize, which amount also will be reported to the IRS. Prize is non-transferable and no substitution by winner is allowed. Sponsor reserves the right to award an alternate prize if the advertised prize becomes unavailable. Allow 8-10 weeks after winner validation for delivery of prize.
- General Conditions:
In the event that the operation, security, or administration of the Contest is impaired in any way for any reason, including, but not limited to fraud, virus, bug, worm, unauthorized human intervention or other technical problem, or in the event the Contest is unable to run as planned for any other reason, as determined by MoneySolver in its sole discretion, MoneySolver may, in its sole discretion, either (a) suspend the Contest to address the impairment and then resume the Contest in a manner that best conforms to the spirit of these Official rules, or (b) terminate the Contest and, in the event of termination, award the prize according to these Official Rules from among the eligible, non-suspect entries received up to the time of impairment. MoneySolver reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the contest or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to damage the Contest webpage or undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, MoneySolver reserves the right to seek damages (including attorney’s fees) and any other remedies from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Failure by MoneySolver to enforce any provision of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
- Release and Limitations of Liability:
By entering, you agree to release and hold harmless MoneySolver, Tax Defense Network, LLC, and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, other companies associates with the Contest, and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, shareholders, representatives, and agents (“Released Parties”) from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the Contest or receipt or use of the prize, including, but not limited to, any technical errors associated with the Contest, including lost, interrupted, or unavailable Internet Service Provider, network, server, wireless service provider, or other connections, availability or accessibility or miscommunications or failed computer, satellite, telephone, cellular tower or cable transmissions, lines, or technical failure or jumbled, scrambled, delayed, or misdirected transmissions or computer hardware or software malfunctions; (b) unauthorized human intervention in the Contest; (c) mechanical, network, electronic, computer, human, printing or typographical errors; (d) lost, late, incomplete, garbled, illegible, undelivered, stolen, damaged, delayed, postage-due or misdirected mail, entries, application downloads, or text messages; (e) any other errors or problems in connection with the Contest, including, without limitation, errors that may occur in the administration of the Contest, the announcement of the winner, the cancellation or postponement of the Contest, the processing of entries, or in any Contest-related materials; or (f) injury, death, loses or damages of any kind, to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from participation in the Contest or acceptance, receipt or misuse of the prize. You further agree that, in any cause of action, the Released Parties’ liability to you will be limited to your actual out-of-pocket cost of entering and participating in the Contest, and in no event shall you be entitled to receive attorney’s fees. Released Parties are also not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by Webpage users, tampering, hacking, or by any equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest. Except as expressly provided above, you waive the right to claim any damages whatsoever, including but not limited to, punitive, consequential, direct, or indirect damages.
Any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or in connection with the Contest or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action. Jurisdiction for all disputes shall be only in the courts of Duval County, Florida, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules.
- Usage and Publicity Rights:
By entering, you irrevocably grant to Sponsor and its agents, and persons acting with their authority, the unconditional and perpetual right to post, display, publish, use, adapt, edit and/or modify your essay submission in any way, in any and all media, for any purpose, without limitation, and without additional consideration to you. Entry constitutes consent to use your name, voice, picture and/or likeness, in any and all media, without restriction of any kind whatsoever, without additional compensation, for promotional and advertising purposes to the extent allowed by law.
- Winner List:
For the name of the winner, available after April 1, 2020, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to MoneySolver Contest Winner, 9000 Southside Blvd., Ste. 11000, Jacksonville, Florida 32256. Request must be received by October 31, 2020.
